michelle williams

Michelle Williams has the kind of natural, effortless style that there just isn't a recipe for. On the street she perfectly balances comfort and chic, combining classic cuts with a gorgeous print here and there for a bit of spice. Her flats are a bit scruffy, she barely wears jewellery and she certainly doesn't abide by the only-wear-it-once rule. She subtly works in on-trend pieces (take the fedora or RVCA by Erin Wasson floral dress) so nonchalantly we could probably assume she merely pulled them out of her closet on a whim. Michelle looks equally as stunning at events, opting for dresses with an edgy twist by coveted designers such as Alexander Wang and 3.1 Phillip Lim. She plays chasey with her adorable daughter Matilda (who is equally as sartorially savvy, I have to admit), drinks tea, totes around a well loved "Je t'aime" bag and can make a flannie, knee-length denim skirt and gumboots look hot. What's not to love?

i wish his name were pat

haha he's a postman! this is too good!
i don't know why i find things like this so entertaining.
from copenhagenstreetstyle

this evening i've been listening to the maccabees and pikelet. pikelet is another member of the melbourne indie scene - she makes wonderful music and always wears rainbow striped socks.

also, i'm having a going-away party next week and i want to try and make rainbow marbled cake like this:

i also bought a huge mixed up bag of lanterns from camberwell market for $5 and we already have fairy lights in our garden... maybe i should just go all out and theme the party "whimsical"?

this is not a real post

today i'm wearing boy's jeans and a flannel shirt and am therefore not qualified to be giving you inspiration of any sort. instead i'll hand that job over to someone else..... so here are a few blogs i have been enjoying recently:

here comes the sun - i'm convinced we could be best friends.
ringo, have a banana! - sometimes she disappears for a while but lately she's been ON FIRE with her posts.
l o l i t a blog - lovely photographic inspiration from here and there...
sophie takes pictures - sophie takes BEAUTIFUL pictures.
shapeshift - she has exquisite taste.

this afternoon my sister and i have to sort through mountains and mountains of clothing and whatnot for our stand at camberwell market tomorrow! yay exciting! not excited about getting up at 5am however..... blergh.
